Does this sound familiar?
“In past relationships I felt like I was … waiting for my life to happen … waiting for my partner to make that commitment … catering to my partner’s every need … neglecting myself…”
“I grew tired of …; but now that relationship is over, it feels like I’m finally alive!”
Unfortunately there are many people who are not fortunate to have a partner with whom they are passionate about. After hearing the above statements in my daily interactions with clients, it got me thinking: How does one get the relationship one want? Subscribe to our list
We all want to have fulfilling relationships; but what steps does one need to take to make it happen? When is it time to call time on a current relationship and move on?
Fear, one of the major stumbling blocks for most people (quite understandably) is preventing us from reaching our “relationship potential”, finding the happiness we crave and getting the relationship we want. You might have found yourself in a relationship and after years, no commitment; though you are unhappy in the situation, leaving it behind can be a daunting task. Is it worth the risk?
When most people think about taking risks they see all the negatives, when really they should view risks as an opportunity. Believe in yourself, it may mean making sacrifices to enable that change in direction: Below are 4 ways to inspire you.
- Develop your interests outside of your partner – it may mean, taking up a hobby, a new sport, joining a group you always wanted to be a part of, or a gym – you’ll never know if you don’t give it a try.
- Create your step by step plan and follow it – push yourself to succeed. It can be easy to find reasons not to do something. However, you might be surprised by how much help is at hand if you put yourself out there and commit to your success.
- Be open minded – don’t limit yourself, what are you unwilling to accept?
- Meet new people – a fulfilling relationship is waiting for those brave enough to find it, good luck in love.
