QUICK BRA FIT TIP – GORE

The gore of your bra is where the under wires or seams (if it is a wire-free style) meet at the centre of your breasts therefore separating them. For an ideal fit; the gore should lay flat against your chest, while the cups are supporting your breasts.

If the wires or seams are not lying flat against your chest so that it separates your breasts then the bra is not an ideal fit and will not last as long as it’s meant to; as your breasts puts pressure on the under wires which can cause them to bend or poke through the bra sides. If it is a wire-free style and the seams are not meeting then the breasts will squeeze together and give the appearance of a “uni-breast”, one where there is no separation just a bundle of fat on the chest.

If you find this happening to you in a fit then

  1. It is time you book a bra fitting with us.
  1. It could be the band is too large hence it is not snug enough to pull the under wires/seam close to the chest so that it separates the breasts.
  1. The band is too tight and the cups are too small which puts the bra under pressure. Hence other than the “uni-breast” it gives a forced compressed look or one that juts out underneath the clothes, either way unattractive.

This could cause a fungus to grow in-between or underneath the breasts as perspiration becomes trapped between the breasts. To correct this :-

  1. Get a bra with a smaller band size and adjust the cup size too.
  1. Get a larger cup size, one that envelopes the breasts where the under wires or seams separates, shapes and support your breasts.
  1. Try a bra in a style with a lower gore if you have really large breasts.
